Country Experience Presenter: Dr. Ahmad A.N. Neaz, Bangladesh
Dr. Ahmad Neaz ANGLADESH obtained a PhD in the year 1982 from the University of Brussels, Belgium, and was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship in the same University.
He returned back to Bangladesh in the year 1988 and joined as a Scientist in the (ICDDR, B), International Centre for Health and Population Research. He was a member of the National Population Council of Bangladesh headed by the Prime Minister. At the international level, he was a member of the Technical Committee of Vision 2000 project of IPPF in London and Global Forum for Health Research under WHO in Geneva. Contributed as a Rapporteur to ICPD+5 Partnership with Civil Society International Workshop organized by UNFPA headquarters, he also provides consultancy services to ClDA, NIPORT, GTZ, JICA, UNFPA, PPD, and WB in the area of RH/FP, Gender equity, poverty and Adolescent program.
From 1995 until 2001, he served as Director General, (CEO) of FPA Bangladesh, a member of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), London. He has developed innovative projects funded by ClDA, UNFPA, JICA and JOICFP and designed training curriculum in ICDDR,B on reproductive health for mid and senior level officials and provided training to more than 70 participants from 33 south - south countries. He has been appointed by the University of North Carolina, USA, from September 2002 to February 2004. He also served as a Director of Training in the NGO Service Delivery Program (NSDP).
