(cnhubei.com) Honghu Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake in central China’s Hubei Province, is now preparing to apply for National Natural Reserve.
With an area of 348 square meters, Honghu Lake is the home of 6 kinds of first-grade birds and 10 kinds of plants under national key protection. The lake was listed as one of the first wetlands under key state protection in 1995
The water is polluted to some extend in recently years due to excessive fishing. Local government vows to fight with pollution and give a beautiful lake to Hubei.
