(english.cnhubei.com) Wuhan plans to draw up preferential policies to attract more foreign capital to form foreign-capital-intensive zone, Wuhan Foreign Trade Bureau announced on December 13, 2005.
The foreign-capital-intensive zone will be located in five districts of the city, attracting foreign investment in industries as auto production, machinofacture, optoelectronic, etc.
The plan has been brought into the Eleventh Five-year Plan of the city.
It is estimated that in the forthcoming five years, the foreign-capital-intensive zone will attract more than 1, 000 foreign companies with US$6 billion, among which 20 companies are world’s top 500.
Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province, is now playing a significant role in the nation's strategy to drive up the central regions economically.
