(cnhubei.com) Statue in memory for Gerlich, China’s first foreign factory manager, was unveiled yesterday in Hanzheng Street Industrial Garden, Qiaokou District of Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province.

Luo Qingquan, Governor of Hubei Province, Li Xiansheng, Mayor of Wuhan Municipal Government, Mr. Loehr, envoy of German Embassy t China as well Gerlich’s wife and son attended the unveiling ceremony.

Mr. Gerlich was born in 1919 in Germany. He was the director of Wuhan Diesel Engine Factory from November, 1984 to November, 1986, during which he brought new managing concept to Wuhan people.

Gerlich died in 2003erlich died in 2003 in Germany.
