(english.cnhubei.com) With the help of American man Wyman Ramsey, the deaf-mute boy in Hongan county of central China’s Hubei Province was sent to the hospital for operation.
Wyman Ramsey, 78, came to Wuhan, the provincial capital as a teacher 10 years ago. The 11-year-old boy, Qin Geng, became deaf when he was one year old. Qin’s parents are farmers who are in poor conditions.
When Wyman learnt about Qin’s story in early 2004, he bought the boy hearing-aid and sent him to a school for deaf-mutes.
As Qin did not turn well with hearing-aid, Wyman decided to send him to hospital for operation in Wuhan and planned to collect 100,000 Yuan (US12, 300) of operational fees.
Local newspaper reports that Wyman has helped about 10 poor university students in China.
