The "Qimingxing" Nano-satellite developed mainly by Wuhan University is scheduled to be released as part of a multiple satellite launch by a Long March-8 rocket at the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan province on Feb. 27.

Professor Jin Guang, head of the R&D team, said that the main body of the team is made up of graduate students of the university. Through development, launch, and monitoring of satellites, students can comprehensively master satellite-related technologies and applications.

The university plans to launch "Luojia-3" in Taiyuan in July this year, which will be the world's first internet intelligent optical satellite, followed by a multi-angle radar satellite in the second half of the year. Both of these are sub-meter resolution satellites.
