HUST supports Olympics with scientific achievements | 华科力量助力北京冬奥

The Huazhong University of Science andTechnology (HUST) announced on Feb. 10 thata number of research achievements they havebeen involved in are being applied to thecompetitions of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

2月10日，华中科技大学发布消息，该校参与的多项研究成果被应用于北京冬奥会赛场。

The intelligent ice-skate and snowboardgrinders developed by the university incollaboration with the Wuhan Huazhong Numerical Control Co., Ltd. meet themanufacturing requirements of various items of ice and snow equipment such as blades for short-track speed skating, and snowboards for cross-country skiing. The most appropriate contour curve can be customized according to themovements and other characteristics of theathletes.

该校联合武汉华中数控股份有限公司等单位，研制出的智能化冰刀磨床和滑雪板磨床，满足了短道速滑冰刀、越野雪板等各种冰雪器材的制造要求，可以根据运动员的动作、着力点等特征，量身定做最合适的轮廓曲线。

The bobsleigh and luge, known as "FormulaOne on the snow," are the fastest sports in theWinter Olympics. The intelligent bobsleigh andluge research project led by HUST has brokenthe technological monopoly of foreigncompanies. By comparing the theoretical trackwith the actual sliding track, scientists canprovide powerful reference data for athletes'training and help them slide faster and moresafely.

雪车雪橇是冬奥会中速度最快的项目，被誉为冬奥会“雪上F1”。华中科技大学牵头的智能雪车雪橇赛项目打破了国外相关公司的技术垄断，通过对比理论轨迹与实际滑行轨迹，为运动员的科学训练提供了有力的参考数据，助力运动员滑得更快更安全。
