'Landmark manhole covers' debut | “地标井盖”亮相

On Feb. 22, Wuhan resident Xu Zihua tookphotos of a copper manhole cover on LinjiangAvenue. On the manhole cover were carvedimages of the Yellow Crane Tower and theWuhan Yangtze River Bridge.

The image on this novel manhole cover isone of a series co-designed by the WuhanWater Group and Wuhan University studentsand faculty, and produced by HanshuiTechnology. More than 20 manhole coversdecorated with copper or colorful images oflandmarks such as the Wuhan Yangtze RiverBridge, Yellow Crane Tower, and Hankou WaterTower are to be found on Pengliuyang Road,Linjiang Avenue, and Tanhualin in Wuchang, aswell as Zhongshan Avenue and YanjiangAvenue in Hankou. The covers are decoratedwith images of landmarks to be found in thelocal vicinity.

原来，这批“新奇”的井盖是由武汉市水务集团与武汉大学师生共同设计，汉水科技公司铸造出品的系列井盖。目前已在武昌彭刘杨路、临江大道、昙华林，汉口中山大道、沿江大道等路段铺设了20多块，图案分别为武汉长江大桥与黄鹤楼、汉口水塔，井盖表面分为彩色版、铜质版，根据图案中的地标建筑，配套安装在对应的地标建筑所在区域。
