(cnhubei.com) The 6th Yichang Three Gorges International Tourism Festival raised its curtain on September 25, 2005 in Yichang city of central China’ Hubei Province.

Over 400 artists from 41 countries and regions performed at the opening ceremony.

14 large-scaled tourism activities as grand opening gala, a tour of the Three Gorges, tour of the construction site of the Three Gorges water control project, Three Gorges Food festival will be hosted.

The festival, organized by National Tourism Bureau and local government, aims to promote local tourism resources.

Yichang is the nearest city to the site of the world's biggest water control project -- the Three Gorges Dam Project at the middle reaches of the Yangtze.
